About the Event
On Election Day, November 6, 2018, Ballot Question #3 will ask Massachusetts voters whether to uphold a law that protects transgender people from discrimination in public spaces. A “YES” vote keeps the current law in place.
In this interactive panel presentation, you will learn about the history of Question #3, its national significance, and what’s at stake. We’ll explore why some people may feel uncomfortable about gender identity and expression, and how we can move toward greater understanding, hear about how discrimination affects transgender individuals and their families, and learn why transgender rights are a Jewish issue.
Featured speakers include Janson Wu, JD, Executive Director of GLAD; Alex Coleman, PhD, JD, Clinical Psychologist and Attorney; and PJ Feynman, Parent.
This program is co-sponsored by Congregation Beth El and Keshet, and is supported by the Beth El Adult Education and Tikkun Olam Committees.
