Defend Transgender Youth in New Hampshire
Status: Loss
New Hampshire’s HB 619 is a dangerous and despicable bill that could impact transgender and other LGBQ+ youth in many areas of life.
Update: On January 5, 2024, the NH House voted forward this bill from the previous session. Learn more. In July 2024, Governor Sununu signed HB619 into law. HB619 will go into effect January 1, 2025.
HB 619 would eviscerate protections against conversion therapy – important progress that we won only a few years ago and reaffirmed last year. The bill would also ban gender-affirming care for minors, force public schools to misgender transgender students, prevent trans kids from using school bathrooms according to their gender, and prohibit them from playing on school sports teams with their friends.
This bill will be up for a hearing soon, and your legislator needs to know that you oppose this attack on LGBTQ+ youth.
