Our kids aren’t talking points.

It’s hard to turn on the TV or check social media these days without witnessing harmful rhetoric aimed at LGBTQ+ – and especially transgender – youth. Extremist politicians have chosen to exploit our kids and reduce them to campaign talking points. Elected officials across the nation introduced more than 530 pieces of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and anti-transgender bills were introduced in 45 states over the last year. And while youth are remarkably strong and resilient, they shouldn’t be the target of well-funded, organized political agendas.

GLAD is on the front lines of this fight – defending and advocating alongside LGBTQ+ youth and their families around the country – for their rights, wellbeing, and equality.

Our current work includes:

  • Suing Florida and Alabama to overturn harmful laws denying established medical care to transgender youth
  • Defending common-sense school policies that ensure a supportive learning environment and strengthen family communication rather than forcing schools to “out” LGBTQ+ students before they’re ready
  • Protecting our children’s right to learn by rejecting calls for book bans in Massachusetts and Maine and challenging a classroom censorship law in New Hampshire
  • Advocating with our partners around the country to protect the opportunity for transgender youth to participate in sports
  • And more

But we need your help.

Show your support for LGBTQ+ youth with a donation to GLAD and help us send a message that their rights are not up for debate.
