SJC to Hear Arguments on Legality of City of Boston’s Domestic Partnership

(Boston, MA) Attorneys for Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) and the City of Boston will argue before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) Thursday, April 8th, in support of the legality of Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s Executive Order on Domestic Partnership issued in August, 1998.

The Executive Order allows partners of city employees who meet strict eligibility criteria to obtain health insurance benefits through the city employee. After the Supreme Judicial Court argument, GLAD attorneys and their clients will make a statement in front of the Court House.

Argument Time: Approx 11:00 a.m.

Argument Location: Room 1300 of the Suffolk County Courthouse

Location of Post-Argument Comments: Front of New Courthouse, Pemberton Square, Boston, immediately after SJC Argument
