Connecticut’s 1st Anniversary of Marriage Equality
GLAD’s Ben Klein and Carisa Cunningham are in Connecticut today to celebrate the state’s 1st anniversary of marriage equality!
Ben will join Love Makes a Family and Connecticut married and engaged same-sex couples for an anniversary photo and celebration at the state house, and to say a few words about the court victory that brought equality to Connecticut last year. And Carisa will be attending the wedding of Beth Kerrigan and Jodie Mock, the named plaintiffs in that case.
Congratulations to Beth and Jodie, and all the couples who have married in Connecticut!
Check back here for photos from the day, or follow @GLADLaw on Twitter for more updates.
Because marriage discrimination still exists at the federal level, GLAD is also rolling out today a survey for Connecticut same-sex married couples to find out how they are affected by the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). If you’d like to complete the survey, you can do so here.

Janet Peck and Carol Conklin, also Kerrigan plaintiffs, attend the wedding:

Justice Palmer (officiating): “No human ties more tender, no bonds more sacred.”

Jody & Beth are married and thanks to them & all GLAD’s plaintiffs many others can marry, too!

Hooray for Equality! Connecticut Married Couples Celebrate at the State House
