New England’s leading legal rights organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on
sexual orientation, HIV status and gender identity and expression.
GLAD staff are available to speak to members of the media about particular cases GLAD is handling, and about the legal rights of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender people, and people with HIV/AIDS. Marriage Equality Rhode Island (MERI) and Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) announce the debut of “Valuing All Families: Marriage Equality in Rhode Island”, a video featuring five Rhode Island same-sex couples talking about what marriage means to them.
“These couples exemplify the best of marriage: love and commitment, in sickness and in health, for better and for worse,” says Kathy Kushnir, Executive Director of MERI. “After hearing their stories, you just can’t deny that they understand marriage, and deserve marriage equality.”
