Protecting Marriage Equality in Maine
On November 3 Maine voters will determine whether the state’s hard-won marriage equality law passed in May will finally go into effect.
GLAD is committed to this fight, working with our coalition partners on public education efforts throughout the state to ensure all Maine families the security, protection, and respect they deserve.
GLAD Civil Rights Project Director Mary Bonauto has participated in several debates on Maine Question 1. You can watch clips from some of them here.

No matter where you live this vote will affect you, as a victory at the ballot box in Maine will turn the tide toward equality across the country.
And no matter where you live, you can do something to help ensure that victory:
Volunteer in Maine - if you live in Maine, or if you can travel for a day, a weekend, or a week, your help is needed on the ground now.
Call for Equality - wherever you live, you can participate in a phone bank from your own home to help get voters out to the polls.
And, of course, if you live in Maine, vote!
