ENDA Committee Hearing Wednesday, September 23
The House Education and Labor Committee will hold the first full committee hearing on the federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) on Wednesday, September 23. ENDA would prohibit workplace discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST, and can be viewed live on the committee website (click on Live Webcast in the top right corner).
This is essential legislation that will provide crucial protections for LGBT people. The bottom line is that if people cannot work, they cannot take care of the most basic needs for themselves and their families. It is well past time that Congress pass this bill.
