GLAD's Board of Ambassadors

Andre Campagna

Prior to serving on the GLAD Board of Ambassadors, Andre Campagna was a Co-Chair of the Spirit of Justice Award Dinner in 2008 and 2009 and has served on the SOJ Event Committee since 2006. Andre graduated from Stonehill College and is currently a Senior Consultant with Beacon Hill Legal where he specializes in legal recruitment for a diverse client base of individuals, law firms and corporate clients. 

Emily Douglas

Emily Douglas is the senior editor and a blogger at TheNation.com, where she frequently assigns stories on LGBT issues. Formerly an editor at RH Reality Check, she has written on reproductive health, LGBT issues, women's rights and the law for The American Prospect, The Nation, The LA Review of BooksThe Women's Review of Books, RH Reality Check, and other publications. She was recently published in the anthology Here Come the Brides: Reflections on Lesbian Love and Marriage. She is on the board of the New York City chapter of Women, Action and the Media. Gary Bailey

Gary Bailey, MSW, ACSW is a professor of practice at the Simmons College School of Social Work; and at the Simmons School of Nursing and Health Studies. Professor Bailey is the President of the International Federation of Social Workers.  He is a member of the board of the Fenway High School in Boston serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA); is a past president of the AIDS Action Committee of Boston board of directors.

Gloria and Linda Bailey-Davies

Gloria and Linda Bailey-Davies were one of the 7 original marriage plaintiff couples in the Goodridge case and have been together for 42 years. They both retired from their private psychotherapy practice in Hartford, CT in 2006 and now live full-time on Cape Cod where Linda is a personal life coach and Gloria manages their investment real estate.  As founding members of the Cape Cod Coalition of Welcoming Congregations, they are both active in providing leadership for over 20 different faith communities who wish to make their “welcome” of the LGBT community truly heartfelt and affirming.

Katherine Patrick

Katherine Patrick is a recent graduate of Smith College and am working with homeless LGBTQ youth of color in the Boston area. She is excited to be on GLAD's Board of Ambassadors to open up the gateways between the organization and young people in the area.

Liz Monnin-Browder
Co-Chair

Liz Monnin-Browder is an associate at Ropes & Gray, where she practices in the litigation department and provides pro bono representation to LGBTQ clients seeking asylum.  She was previously a staff attorney at GLAD, and she co-edited and co-authored GLAD’s publication, Transgender Family Law: A Guide to Effective Advocacy. Liz was a founding member of Massachusetts Transgender Legal Advocates, initiated the annual fundraiser Lawyers for Transgender Rights, and is actively involved with the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition and the Mass. LGBTQ Bar Association’s Committee on Transgender Inclusion.

Rick McCarthy
Co-Chair

Rick McCarthy is a Senior Relationship Manager at  U.S. Bank focusing on commercial real estate clients in the Boston area. Rick recently stepped down as Board President of GLAD in 2011 after 15 years of board membership. Rick lives in the South End of Boston with his partner of sixteen years, Gary Bailey.
