Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders

GLAD Cases

Overview

The cases that make up GLAD's docket touch on all areas of importance to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities and to the lives of people with HIV and AIDS throughout New England.  We are fighting for a society that recognizes the dignity of every person regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and HIV status.  We are fighting for our families; for our right to marry the person of our choosing; for our youth; for people with HIV and AIDS; for protection from all forms of discrimination in employment and public accommodations; for our elderly; for an end to unjust criminal laws; and for an end to discrimination on the basis of gender identity or expression.

As you will see below, we meet with an enormous amount of success.  Though there are obstacles along the way, we are moving closer and closer to "Equal Justice Under Law."
