Transgender Rights Reception


On January 30th, five major organizations for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities in Massachusetts celebrated the publication of Transgender Rights, the first comprehensive work on the transgender civil rights movement

The event featured local contributors Jennifer Levi and Bennett Klein, attorneys with GLAD, co-editor Richard M. Juang of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition, and Taylor Flynn, professor at Western New England College School of Law. Also speaking at the event was co-editor and contributor Shannon Price Minter, legal director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights and a founding board member of the Transgender Law and Policy Institute.

In addition to GLAD, the event was sponsored by AIDS Action Committee, Somos Latino@s LGBT Coaliton of MA, the Massachusetts Lesbian & Gay Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition.
