Equal Justice Council

transforming the law through leadership giving

A Fundamental Commitment

The Equal Justice Council is the major donor group of GLAD — Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders.

Members make annual tax-deductible contributions of $1,500 or more (or monthly gifts of $125 or more) to strengthen the historic work of New England's foremost LGBT legal rights organization.

Through those contributions, Equal Justice Council members demonstrate that the goal of ending discrimination based on sexual orientation, HIV status, or gender identity and expression is a personal priority in their lives.

As a result, they have a direct impact on the pace of positive change for LGBT citizens and their families throughout New England and across the United States.

A Dynamic Experience

As leaders among the community of GLAD supporters, members of the Equal Justice Council receive an array of benefits and involvement opportunities to heighten their awareness of, and appreciation for, GLAD's work.  All members receive:

—In-depth perspectives on GLAD's work and strategies through special communications, legal briefings, and other means.
—Invitations to major donor receptions.
—Complimentary tickets to GLAD's Winter Party in Boston and Summer Party in Provincetown.
—Recognition in GLAD publications.
Equal Justice Council activities range from the social to the serious, each grounded in a shared sense of purpose that reaches from the U. S. Supreme Court to the homes, workplaces town halls, health care facilities, schools and lives of LGBT people and their families.

Making the Investment

Join the Equal Justice Council at the level of your choice, and fulfill your pledge on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, by credit card, check or gifts of stock.  Increase your impact with a multi-year pledge or a matching gift from your employer.

For those able to make a deeper investment of $5,000 or more, the Equal Justice Leadership Council provides the resources to further secure GLAD's long-term vision.

And as you review your estate planning, consider making a bequest to GLAD through your will, a charitable trust or simply by designating GLAD as the beneficiary of your IRA or life insurance policy.  Contact the development office for further information.
